The factory sights on Kahr pistols are not ideal for EDC or a home defense gun – whether it’s the plastic sights on the Kahr C9 or the non-illuminated sights on the Kahr K9, they are not optimal for a defensive pistol. XS offers durable iron sights that will hold up to years of abuse and stay on the gun. Our sights come equipped with tritium to provide an illuminated sight picture in low light. Tritium glows for 10-years and does not require batteries or maintenance. We carry a variety of sight pictures tailored to specific shooting styles.
DXT2 Night Sights offer the fastest sight acquisition on the market. The big dot front sight and open rear sight allow a greater field of view down range, increasing the front sight acquisition speed. The simple in-line sight picture reduces sight alignment time by eliminating an extra focus point compared to traditional notch and post sights. The dot-the-i sight picture prevents confusing the front and rear sight while under stress or in low light. DXT2 Sights are available with a Big Dot (0.188”) front sight.
XS front sights are equipped with our proprietary photoluminescent Ember Glow Dot technology. The Glow Dot features a high-contrast color in bright light, absorbs ambient light, and glows in low light. Ember is available in multiple colors to satisfy personal color preferences. Kahr History
Kahr Arms was founded in 1994 with the release of the Kahr K9 pistol. Justin Moon, Kahr’s founder, began design work on what would become the K9 during the summer between his junior and senior years at Harvard.
Moon, who had been introduced to firearms and shooting during his early teens, acquired a license to carry when he was 18. After receiving his carry license, he began searching for a pistol that met his needs for size, weight, capacity and safety. His inspiration to design a new pistol was a result of failing to find an available option that met his personal requirements.
The success of the Kahr K9 and the models that followed was assisted by the political climate of the mid 1990’s. During that time, the number of states that began offering shall-issue concealed carry licenses increased dramatically. At the same time, the U.S. Assault Weapons ban was enacted. The resulting restriction on magazines to 10 rounds made many available firearms, guns that had previously been capable of carrying 15 or more rounds, bigger and bulkier than was necessary for a handgun with a capacity of 10 rounds.
The Kahr K9 was considerably smaller and slimmer than many other offerings due to its single stack magazine. That, along with its smooth double-action only trigger system and reputation for reliability quickly made it a top choice for concealed carry and law enforcement backup use.
Kahr has continued to expand their offerings. Polymer framed pistols were introduced in the early 2000’s. With the introduction of the Kahr P380, the firm entered the micro-compact market with one of the first successful delayed recoil .380’s available.
Kahr continues to innovate and offer new firearms specifically for the concealed carry market. Their reputation for accuracy, reliability and concealability makes the Kahr family of handguns an excellent choice for concealed carry.
K9 – Slim, single stack semi-automatic in 9X19mm. The first of the Kahr family, it gained a reputation as an accurate and reliable sub-compact pistol ideal for concealed carry.
P9 – Polymer framed variant of the K9. Maintains the accuracy and reliability of the previous steel frame designed with a reduction in weight.
P380 – Polymer framed “pocket pistol” chambered in .380 ACP. One of the earliest successful delayed-recoil handguns chambered for .380 ACP.
